Azure availability zones support

Hi team,

does Versa VOS support virtual appliances deployed in pairs with each appliance in a different availability zone in Azure?

Comments

  • Hi fun4net,

Different availability zones are supported for VOS. Even it is recommended for production deployment, because each availability zone has its own power source, network, and cooling, ensuring that an outage in one zone doesn't affect the others. This all result you will have very resilient deployment.

One note. Deploy VOS without selecting Redundant Pair in the Workflows template, deploy it as standalone. This is because the dot1.q tagging that is required for the cross-connect of a traditional VOS HA pair is not supported. Both VOS deployed in Azure should peer with the Azure virtual router in the same way, so then it learn the spoke VNET routes and advertise them to the SD-WAN fabric.
